ATHENS (CIHAN) - Turkish author Necati Cumalý's novel, Viran Daglar (The Rugged Mountains), has been made into a mini series by a Greek Art Production Company.

The €10-million "Le dernier seigneur des Balkan" film will be shown in four parts.
The Greek Company's owners Haris Davas and Dinos Tavladis told the Turkish Milliyet daily that they first offered Turkey a part in the project. "However, we could not get a positive answer from Turkey" the Miliyet quoted Dinos Tavladis.
Necati Cumali was born in Greece but later migrated to Turkey in 1922 following the population exchange between Greece and Turkey.
The lives of Turkish characters will be played by Greek and French actors.
The novel relates to the collapse of the Ottoman Empire at the beginning of the 20th century.
