Nineteen Wounded In Mersin Blast

ICEL (CIHAN) - Nineteen people including two police officers were wounded on Sunday evening in southern Turkish city of Icel when a bomb planted under a police vehicle went off during concert.
The blast took place on the last day of 5th Mersin Music Festival organized by the Mersin Municipality. The health conditions of three wounded people were critical. The wounded people were taken to the Mersin State and University Hospitals.
Security forces launched intensive operation in region following the blast. Several similar blasts occurred in city recent weeks.
A percussion bomb went off on Tuesday evening in front of a ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) building in Mersin.
PKK militants have carried out several bomb attacks across Turkey since ending their 6-year unilateral ceasefire last June.
