LOS ANGELES (AFP) - Pop star Britney Spears tied the knot for the second time this year, marrying a dancer who has toured with the blonde bombshell, US celebrity media reported.
Spears, 22, wearing a white strapless dress, married 26-year-old boyfriend and back-up dancer Kevin Federline late Saturday during a private ceremony at a friend's home in Studio City, California, Entertainment Tonight (ET) reported on its website.
After the wedding, which was attended by between 20 and 30 guests, and newlyweds dined on chicken fingers and ribs as music blared from a boombox, ET reported.
Spears, whose hits include "Baby One More Time," "Oops!...I Did It Again" and "I'm A Slave 4 U," shocked the pop world in January when she married childhood friend Jason Alexander during a spontaneous ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The marriage lasted 55 hours before the pair obtained an annulment.
By marrying Federline, Spears will become the stepmother of his two-year-old daughter Kori and newborn baby Moesha. The children's mother is actress Shar Jackson, of the television show "Moesha."
Spears had announced her plan to marry the dancer in June. A wedding was scheduled for mid-October, according to the celebrity press.
The provocative singer was "beaming" and laughing after leaving the wedding with her new husband early Sunday, ET said.
Syndicated television show "Access Hollywood" reported that relatives were surprised by the wedding.
Show reporters were with Spears mother, Lynn, and the star's younger sister, Jamie Lynn, Saturday afternoon "as they got ready for what they believed to be an engagement dinner," according to the show website.
According to Star Magazine, Spears wore a long veil and tiara, and she carried a bouquet of pink and white roses. Her groom wore a black tuxedo, while the five bridesmaids and a maid of honor wore burgundy and carried red roses.
Federline gave the pop star a platinum band, and Spears gave her new love a platinum ring with diamonds, according to Star.
The home is owned by the ex-husband of the couple's wedding planner -- who is also the tailor who designed the tuxedo for Federline and his groomsmen, the magazine reported.
Spears said in an interview in the July 12 issue of People magazine that she had finally met her prince in Federline, who was one of the dancers on her recent concert tour, after kissing "a bunch of frogs."
Britney's next album, due out in early November, is titled "Greatest Hits: My Prerogative."
Elizabeth Arden is also set to release a line of Spears perfume called "Curious," billed as "an exhilarating white floral accented with Louisiana Magnolia and wrapped in the sensuality of vanilla-infused musk."
