ANKARA - Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen and U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Eric Edelman discussed measures which are and have to be taken to assure the security of Turkish drivers carrying goods to Iraq, sources said on Friday.
Edelman, during his meeting with Tuzmen, informed him about the measures which U.S. officials have taken on this matter. Sources said that Tuzmen told Edelman that there should not be a difficulty concerning security of the vehicles carrying humanitarian aid and delivery of this aid to Turkmens in Tal Afar, a Turkmen city in Iraq.
Edelman also noted that there will not be a problem in this issue and the United States will provide the necessary support.
Tuzmen and Edelman also discussed intellectual property rights and agricultural issues besides commercial and economic questions between two countries.
