ADANA/ISKENDERUN - Aytullah Gezmen, Turkish translator who was kept hostage by militants in Iraq and then released after 52 days, arrived in southern city of Adana on Friday.
Gezmen was working for Ankara based Bilintur Company and he was sent to Iraq as translator 9 months ago by his company. He was kept hostage by insurgents in Iraq for 52 days and then released. Gezmen stayed in Turkish Embassy in Baghdad for one day and then arrived in Turkey.
Gezmen told reporters that he is very happy to be in Turkey, adding, ''there are other Turkish hostages in Iraq. I hope they are rescued as well.''
