Planes Carrying Humanitarian Aid Leaves For Sudan

ANKARA - Two Turkish military planes carrying humanitarian aid, left for Sudan on Wednesday.
The aid includes foodstuff, tents, medicine and general health equipment which were provided by Turkish General Staff, Health Ministry and Turkish Red Crescent.
Two planes carrying the humanitarian aid which costs 275,000 U.S. dollars, departed from Ankara Akinci Base early in the morning.
Humanitarian aid will be delivered to Sudanese officials at Nyala Airport in Darfur region by a delegation comprised of Parliamentary Turkish-Sudanese Friendship Group Chairman Abdurrahman Anik, Sakarya deputy Suleyman Gunduz, Prime Ministry Emergency Department Director General Hasan Ipek and Turkish Red Crescent Director General Omer Tasli.
The distribution of aid will be made by Sudanese officials, the United Nations officials in the region and officials of Turkish Embassy in Khartoum.
