Airbus Says Still Scheduled To Deliver 29 Planes To Bankrupt U.S. Airways

PARIS, Sept 13 (AFP) - European aircraft giant Airbus said Monday it still had 29 planes scheduled for delivery to US Airways, the US carrier that filed for bankruptcy Sunday for the second time in as many years.
An Airbus spokeswoman said the deliveries were scheduled for 2007-2009, and that no deliveries were planned in the short term.
When US Airways filed for bankruptcy in August 2002, the company negotiated a reduction of outstanding Airbus orders to 10 planes from 19 previously.
US Airways exited from bankruptcy in March 2003.
The airline has indicated it will ask a bankruptcy court to allow the company to pursue its current financial programmes.
