MIAMI, Sept 13 (AFP) - Hurricane Ivan killed 34 people when it hit Grenada at the end of last week, the Caribbean island's consul general in Miami, Richard Nixon, said Monday.
More than 60 people have now been killed across the Caribbean by Ivan, which was headed for Cuba, Mexico and the United States.
Grenada has issued an international appeal for medicine and other supplies after thousands of homes were destroyed by the storm.
