Northern Cyprus FM Says Turkish Cypriots Can't See Any Positive Effects Of Referenda

ANKARA - Turkish Cypriots could not see any positive effects of their ``yes`` vote to April 24th simultaneous referenda in Cyprus, Serdar Denktas, the Foreign Minister of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) said on Sunday.
Appearing on private CNN Turk television channel, Denktas said that Turkish Cypriot side, which voted ``yes`` to (UN Secretary General Kofi) Annan plan (for a comprehensive settlement of the Cyprus problem), was sympathized by the entire world.
But, Denktas noted, promises made to TRNC before the referenda were not kept.
Recalling that international community had stated that it would end isolation of Turkish Cypriots in case they voted ``yes`` to Annan plan before the referenda, Denktas said that no concrete result was reached after the referenda.
Denktas stated that Turkish Cypriots still wanted solution, but the stance of the Greek Cypriots disappointed everybody.
What Turkish Cypriot side wanted was ``to become a part of the international community``, Denktas said.
Denktas pointed out that TRNC would need to search for new approaches in time.
