DUSHANBE - Turkish State Minister Besir Atalay said on Sunday that they supported UN Drug Control Program with Drug Control Cooperation Unit which was formed under the secretariat of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
Ministers of Turkey, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan attended the 8th Meeting of the ECO in Tajikistan.
Speaking at the summit, Atalay said that ECO was playing an important role in development of economy and stability in the region.
Atalay said that they were very pleased with ECO Trade Agreement which was signed by Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Tajikistan and Afghanistan in Islamabad in June 2003.

-''TURKEY WILL BE ENERGY CORRIDOR''-
Stating that there should be cooperation in energy to maintain politic and economic stability between member states of ECO, Atalay said, ''Turkey will be an energy corridor in transportation of oil and natural gas to world trade centers in the near future.''
