BUENOS AIRES, Sept 11 (AFP) - Football legend Diego Maradona, who nearly died earlier this year with heart and lung problems, was rushed to hospital early Saturday with high blood pressure and a fever, medical sources told AFP.
However the 1986 World Cup winning captain was later readmitted to the psychiatric clinic in the western suburbs of Buenos Aires where he is undergoing drug rehabilitation therapy.
The further health problems come at a time when the 43-year-old Argentinian is hoping to continue his drug therapy in Cuba.
His lawyer said last Monday he had received permission to pursue treatment for cocaine addiction in the Caribbean island though Maradona's ex-wife and daughters were trying to ensure that he stayed in Argentina, suspecting he would not get the treatment he needed.
