ADANA/ANTAKYA - A terrorist died when trying to place a bomb on railway in Dortyol township of southern city of Hatay, Turkish State Railways (TCDD) official said on Wednesday.
TCDD Adana Regional Director Yasar Tatlisu told A.A correspondent that a terrorist who tried to place a bomb on Yakacik railway bridge between Dortyol and Payas townships of Hatay died as the bomb exploded in his hand.
Hatay Police Chief Cafer Sahin stated that bomb experts examined the bridge where explosion occurred.
On the other hand, Tatlisu said that acting on a tip off, it was found out that terrorist/terrorists disassembled tracks of the railway between southeastern city of Kahramanmaras and Narli.
Tatlisu noted that they stopped a train carrying passengers which was expected to pass on the railway between Kahramanmaras and Narli, adding that teams were working to repair tracks.
