SKOPJE - Turkish National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul was received by Macedonian President Branko Crvenkovski and Prime Minister Hari Kostov on Thursday in Skopje.
Macedonian President Crvenkovski thanked for Turkey's support to Macedonia, and particularly appreciated Turkey's positive approach toward Macedonia's willingness to be a member of NATO.
Gonul and Crvenkovski stated that cooperation between the armies and defense ministries of the two countries reached to the highest level, and noted that this paved the ways for improvement of relations in all areas.
Macedonian Prime Minister Kostov told the meeting with Gonul that new initiatives should be launched between Turkey and Macedonia in economic area within the scope of positive relations. Kostov invited Turkish businessmen to make new investments in Macedonia.
Thanking for Turkey's support to Macedonia, Kostov said Macedonian Turks were the bridge of this friendship.
Gonul wanted Macedonian government to help solution of problems of Turks living in this country.
Gonul is expected to depart from Macedonia on Friday.
