C.O.E. Chooses Usak E-type Prison As A Model Prison

USAK - The Council of Europe (COE) chose Usak E-type Prison as 'model prison' of the year, said Ihsan Erogul, Chief Public Prosecutor of Aegean city of Usak.
Erogul told A.A on Thursday that Usak E-type prison, which was one of the worst prisons of Turkey in 2000, was overhauled during the years.
Noting, ''Usak Prison is the most successful prison in preparing prisoners and convicts to social life,'' Erogul said, ''vocational courses are active in the prison.''
Erogul said, ''COE chose Usak Prison as 'model prison' following the radical changes.''
''300 prisoners are still attending various courses and they learn professions in the prison,'' added Erogul.
