ANKARA - Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc signed on Tuesday the book of condolences opened at the Russian Embassy in Ankara for those who lost their lives in the terrorist attack on a school in Beslan city of North Ossetia last week.
Arinc strongly condemned the terrorist act which killed innocent people in Beslan.
In the book of condolences, Arinc wrote, ''I feel regret that a cruel and inhumane terrorist act chose defenseless children, their families and the civilians as its victims on a school day in Beslan city of North Ossetia. I strongly condemn killing of children and innocent people. Terrorism can never be justified by any reason or purpose.''
Arinc continued, ''this cruel massacre staged in Beslan was a very painful and grievous warning that war on terrorism can be successful only by solidarity, support and concerted efforts of the international community. This distressing and unbelievable violence has hurt Turkish people, who have suffered much from terrorism during the years. The Islam bans such terrorist acts. I believe hat the recent terrorist act won't harm interreligious and intercultural dialogue and fraternity.''
Turkish Parliament Speaker Arinc concluded by expressing his condolences and wishing quick recovery for the injured.
