Slight Majority Believe Attacks On Kerry Unjust: U.S. Poll

WASHINGTON, Sept 7 (AFP) - A slight majority of Americans believe attacks against Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry by his opponents have been unfair, according to a new opinion poll.
Fifty-two percent of respondents in the Gallup poll said Kerry had been unfairly attacked, versus 41 percent who said he had not.
In the same poll, 41 percent said Republican President George W. Bush had been the victim of unfair attacks, versus 53 percent who said he had not.
The poll of 1,018 adults taken Friday through Sunday had a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points.
Both campaigns have launched attacks on each other`s character and record. In addition, both have been the target of attacks by independent groups.
