Three U.S. Soldiers Killed In Separate Baghdad Attacks

BAGHDAD, Sept 7 (AFP) - Three US soldiers were killed Monday in separate attacks in the Baghdad, the US military announced as the number of US casualties in Iraq since the March 2003 invasion neared the 1,000 mark.
The flurry of anti-coalition attacks around the Iraqi capital came after a car bomb killed seven soldiers and three Iraqi national guard near the restive city of Fallujah Monday, in the deadliest attack in months for US troops.
"One Task Force Baghdad soldier was wounded in an attack in Baghdad at about 2:30 pm (1030 GMT) September 6. The soldier was evacuated to a medical facility and died from wounds at about 3:00 pm the same day," the US military said in a statement.
Another soldier was wounded in a similar attack earlier Monday and died of his wounds early Tuesday, another statement said.
A third soldier was killed and another injured late Monday in a roadside bombing just outside the capital, the military said.
The deaths bring to 10 the number of US soldiers killed in less than 24 hours and to 991 the number killed in Iraq since March 2003.
