Mosul Governor's Son Assassinated In Northern Iraq

MOSUL, Iraq, Sept 7 (AFP) - The son of governor for the northern Iraqi province of Niniveh was assassinated Tuesday in the city of Mosul, police and medical sources said.
Leith Dureid Kashmula, 19, was shot several times in the chest by unknown attackers as he was alone in his car in western Mosul, said Hazem Gallawi, media adviser for the governorate.
On September 1, one policeman was killed and 18 other people wounded in a mortar attack on the provincial government building in central Mosul.
Niniveh governor Dureid Kashmula's predecessor was assassinated in July.
