AMSTERDAM - Turkish Agriculture and Rural Affairs Minister Sami Guclu met on Monday his Dutch counterpart Cees Veerman in Noordwijk, a town near The Hague.
Guclu, who is representing Turkey at the informal meeting of agriculture ministers of the European Union (EU) member and candidate countries, informed Veerman about investment opportunities for foreign businessmen in agriculture, and stressed that Turkey was ready for full membership negotiations in every area, including the area of agriculture.
On the other hand, Veerman said that he did not think differently from his government about starting negotiations with Turkey, and expressed belief that the EU would make the fairest and most objective decision about Turkey.
Guclu is expected to return to Turkey on Tuesday.
