ANKARA - Russian President Vladimir Putin cancelled his visit to Turkey due to terrorist act in North Ossetia, Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said on Thursday.
Replying to questions of reporters, Gul said that they were informed on postponement of Putin's visit to Turkey early this morning, noting, ''as you know, currently Russia is facing with an important incident . Thus, they said that they could not leave Russia under these circumstances.''
Foreign Minister Gul stated that Putin would pay a visit to Turkey another time, adding that it was early to set the date now.
