At Least Eight Killed, 10 Injured In Moscow Blast

MOSCOW, Aug 31 (AFP) - At least eight people were killed and 10 others injured after a car exploded Tuesday outside a Moscow subway station, the Interfax news agency reported, quoting emergency ministry sources.
"There are children among the wounded," a police source told the RIA Novosti news agency.
The emergencies ministry told the Interfax agency that the blast happened at 8:17 pm (1617 GMT) outside the Rizhskaya metro station in northern Moscow, just shortly after rush hour.
Initial reports had said two cars exploded at the same time.
Televsion reports said that there was a fire at the station which was being put out and emergency services were on the scene. The shock wave broke windows in the lobby of the metro station.
News agencies said that the station was closed after the blast and would only reopen when the damage left by the blast was cleared up.
Trains were going through the station without stopping.
Passengers were being told through loudspeakers to use different means of transport or stations.
