ISTANBUL (CIHAN) - Turkish prolific striker Hakan Sükür said on Monday that Turkey national football team would qualify to World Cup 2006 in Germany by winning preliminary group.
Turkey will take on Georgia in Trabzon on September 4 and will play against Euro Champions Greece in Athens four days later for World Cup qualifying matches. Turkish striker will seek to add new goals to his goal tally under the jersey of Turkish national team. He scored 46 goals in 97 caps.
National team came together in Istanbul for training camp for upcoming matches.
Hakan told a press conference at Polat Renaissance Hotel that they will first beat Georgia and then Greece. "I think we will attain place in Germany 2006 World Cup."
Turkey, Greece, Denmark, Ukraine, Georgia, Albania, and Kazakhstan are all in the same World Cup 2006 qualifying group.
