August 30th Victory Day Celebrated Throughout Turkey

ANKARA - August 30th Victory Day is being celebrated throughout Turkey on Monday.
The first ceremony was held at Anitkabir, the Mausoleum of Ataturk, the Founder of Turkish Republic.
Chief of General Staff Hilmi Ozkok, Land Forces Commander Yasar Buyukanit, Naval Forces Commander Ozden Ornek, Air Forces Commander Ibrahim Firtina, Gendarme General Command Fevzi Turkeri, Deputy Chief of General Staff Ilker Basbug and other military personnel were in attendance at the ceremony.
Ozkok laid a wreath on Ataturk's Mausoleum, and later the group observed a minute of silence.
A helicopter flown over Anitkabir during the ceremony to assure security.
