Abeylegesse Of Turkey Ranks Eighth In 1,500-meter Olympic Women's Athletics

ATHENS - Elvan Abeylegesse of Turkey ranked the eighth in 1,500-meter Olympic women`s athletics in the Athens 2004 Summer Olympic Games on Saturday.
Elvan ran 1,500 meters in 4.00.67 seconds.
After the race, Elvan told reporters, ``I am very sad. Running in five events one after the other made me very tired. I couldn`t recover from my low-spirited mood after the 5,000-meter race. This had a negative effect when I was running 1,500 meters. I hope I will be successful in the future.``
Kelly Holmes of the United States won the gold, while Tatyana Tomashova of Russia became the silver medallist in this race.
