IZMIR - Ekrem Demirtas, the Chairman of the Executive Board of Izmir Chamber of Commerce (IZTO), said on Saturday that the chamber would launch initiatives to increase Eximbank loans for Kyrgyzstan.
Kyrgyz Minister of Economic Development, Foreign Trade and Industry Amangeldi Muraliev and accompanying delegation, who join the 73rd Izmir International Fair, visited Demirtas.
In the meeting, Demirtas said that they would visit Kazakhstan in September, and have the opportunity to see economic developments in this country.
Demirtas noted that they wanted further improvement of trade relations between Turkey and Kyrgyzstan, and added, ''some businessmen of Izmir are investing in Kyrgyzstan. But, this is not enough. We will launch initiatives to enable Kyrgyzstan to use Eximbank loans if the loans haven't been used yet, and to increase these loans if they have been used.''
On the other hand, Muraliev said that his country was developed in areas like agriculture and animal breeding, but it had some deficiencies in packing and management.
Proposing businessmen of Izmir to build a hotel in his country, Muraliev said, ''encourage your businessmen to invest in Kyrgyzstan. Our bilateral trade volume is around 37-40 million U.S. dollars, which is a very low figure.''
