Death Toll Rises To Four In Building Collapse In Eskisehir

ESKISEHIR - Death toll rose to four after a factory building under construction collapsed in central province of Eskisehir on Friday.
Sources told A.A correspondent that Sakir Aytun, who was trapped under the rubble after the building collapsed, was later rescued and immediately hospitalized, however his life could not be saved despite all the efforts of doctors.
Earlier, three people Ali Aydogan, Fuat Yilmaz and Cemal Gokcek were reported dead as the building collapsed.
Sources said that Ahmet Kamber, who was also injured, was still under treatment.
Officials from ''Yontem'' company, which was inspecting the construction of the building belonging to a famous Turkish biscuit firm named ''Eti Biskuvileri'', said that they supposed the construction collapsed due to a crane and assembly defect.
On the other hand, search and rescue teams said that there were not anybody left under the rubble.
The foundation of this cake factory was laid on July 13th. Making a keynote speech during the groundbreaking ceremony, ETI Holding Group Chairman Firuz Kanatli said that this would be the biggest cake factory in Turkey.
