ANKARA - Prime Minister Ehud Olmert of Israel arrived in Turkey on a state visit on Monday.
Olmert, accompanied by a delegation, was first received by Turkish President Abdullah Gul at Cankaya Presidential Palace in capital Ankara. The meeting was closed to press.
Israeli premier is also scheduled to hold talks with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
During their meeting, Erdogan and Olmert are expected to discuss regional issues, focusing on bilateral relations and the Middle East peace process.
Upon completing his talks, Olmert is expected to depart from Ankara late on Monday.
