ALEPPO - Turkish State Minister Nazim Ekren, addressing to Turkish and Syrian businessmen in Aleppo on Friday, said that regional cooperation was very important to minimize the influences of global crisis.
Ekren said that they targeted to increase the trade volume between Turkey and Syria to five billion USD, adding that the economies of the two country were completing each other, not competing.
"Economy and finance circles should set common targets and take steps together within that scope," said Erken, adding that Turkey would fulfill its responsibilities and could provide required technical support in that issue.
"As a first step of this cooperation, Turkish banks will start to work in Syria," he noted.
Also Syrian Deputy Premier Abdallah al-Dardari said that they were working on to ease foreign banks to open representations in Syria, adding that they would take a step for a Turkish bank to be opened in Syria.
Dardari added that his government would do its best to develop cooperation and eliminate obstacles before cooperation.
