ANKARA - Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi delayed the visit he was expected to pay to Turkey at the beginning of September upon Ankara's invitation, sources said on Thursday.
Sources said that Allawi postponed the visit due to his busy schedule and recent developments in Iraq.
The same sources noted that Allawi was planning not to leave Iraq till the United Nations (UN) General Assembly meeting in the United States in September, and stated that the Iraqi Prime Minister was expected to meet Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul during the UN General Assembly.
Allawi could again think of visiting Turkey in October, sources added.
