Tusiad Presents Bosphorus Prize To Vice President Of Italian Senate

ANKARA - Turkish Industrialists` & Businessmen`s Association (TUSIAD) presented "TUSIAD Bosphorus Prize for European Understanding" to Emma Bonino, the vice president of Italian Senate, in Ankara on Thursday.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan, who presented the prize to Bonino, said that Bonino had always extended support in every critical point in Turkey`s EU membership process.
Babacan said that EU process had contributions to Turkey to catch higher standards. He stressed that Turkish government was determined to advance this process.
Also, Bonino said that the prize of TUSIAD was very prestigious, and wished that Turkey would join the EU and become a part of Europe.
Bonino said that Turkey`s membership to the EU would be for the interest of the Union.
She said that Turkey`s membership was important because it would unite different cultures and religions.
