ANKARA - Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan received the special adviser of the United Nations Secretary General in Ankara on Thursday.
Babacan had a meeting with Alexander Downer, the special adviser of the UN Secretary General on Cyprus, and said there should be a timetable for the negotiations which were launched in Cyprus.
Diplomatic officials said the meeting focused on the latest situation in regard to ongoing negotiations in Cyprus.
Officials quoted Babacan as saying that Turkey fully supported the negotiation process and Mehmet Ali Talat, the president of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Downer also had a meeting with Ertugrul Apakan, the undersecretary of Turkish Foreign Ministry, in Ankara.
