ANKARA - Kazakhstan`s Defense Minister Daniyal Akhmetov paid a visit to his Turkish counterpart, Vecdi Gonul, in Ankara on Thursday.
Speaking at a joint press conference after the meeting, Gonul said the defense cooperation between Turkey and Kazakhstan promised a bright future, adding that Akhmetov`s visit further strengthened the relations between the two countries.
Akhmetov said that Turkey was one of the first countries that recognized Kazakhstan`s independence, adding that this was his fourth meeting with Gonul in the last couple years.
"Turkey is not an ordinary country for us and I believe our cooperation in military will become much stronger," Akhmetov said.
