ANKARA - Mobile phone subscribers are over the fixed-line subscribers in Turkey, a Turkish communication authority said on Thursday.
The number of mobile phone subscribers were almost four-folds more than the main line subscribers in Turkey, the Information Technologies & Communication Agency said.
According to the figures of the agency, the number of landline subscribers was 17.6 million in Turkey in October 2008.
There were actually 65.7 million mobile phone users in Turkey in October.
Around 54 million people were using mobile phones, and 19 million people were fixed-line subscribers in Turkey in 2007.
Turkey started to use mobile phones in 1995.
