KABUL - A total of 100 Turkish companies have been operating in 25 separate sectors in Afghanistan.
"Turkish businessmen are mainly investing in construction sector," Aydin Temizer, trade consultant of Turkish Embassy in Kabul, told the A.A correspondent on Wednesday.
Temizer said Turkish investments in Afghanistan since 2003 reached 2.9 billion USD, indicating that, "Turkish companies won tenders worth 243 million USD in 2008. Turkish entrepreneurs particularly undertook reconstruction of military post and border posts. Construction of highways in Herat, Kandahar and Kabul are also assumed by Turkish companies."
