One person has been killed and seven others have been wounded in an explosion at a chemical factory in Turkey's biggest city of Istanbul.
The incident occurred in the leather industry zone in Istanbul's Tuzla district, Anatolian News Agency reported on Wednesday.
"Two people were seriously injured," said Hasan Akar, a security official in the industry zone.
He noted that the fire at the chemical factory, caused by the explosion, is now under control.
It was not immediately known what cased the explosion Akar said.
Earlier this month, three people were killed and ten others were injured in a gas explosion in a municipality building in Turkey's northwestern province of Izmit.
