Blast at Turkey's AKP office wounds 6

A bomb blast at the headquarters of Turkish ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in Istanbul has left at least 6 people wounded.

The attack, which came on the European side of the city on Monday afternoon, smashed a number of windows at the entrance of the office building in the central Istanbul suburb of Beyoglu, Turkey's private television NTV reported.

No group or organization has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, which left four policemen and two party officials wounded.

Istanbul Governor Muammer Guler said an investigation was launched into the incident. He added the explosion was probably caused by a homemade bomb hidden in a package.

Guler said the police were examining footage from security cameras for clues on who planted the bomb.
