Afghan police say an attack on a German diplomatic vehicle in the capital has left at least three civilians killed and six others wounded.
The embassy vehicle was attacked on Sunday near a high school on the main road leading to Afghanistan`s parliament building in southwestern Kabul, a senior police official said.
The bomber detonated his explosive vest as he approached the convoy on foot, the official said, adding that A German military attaché riding in one of the vehicles remained unharmed.
Witnesses descried the blast as "powerful", saying it caused damages to several nearby buildings.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack. However, many described the attack as similar to those carried out by pro-Taliban militants.
Despite the presence of a 70,000-strong international force in Afghanistan, violence has increased to an unprecedented level this year since the 2001 invasion of the country by US-led forces,
The rise in the number of attacks has caused grave concerns over the war-torn county`s stability, with civilians usually bearing the brunt of the fighting.
Sunday`s incident came in the wake of a blast outside the US Embassy on Thursday that left four Afghan civilians killed and nearly 20 others wounded. The attack was later claimed by the Taliban.
