Woman Apparently From Cuba Found Alive In Crate Shipped To Miami

MIAMI, Aug 25 (AFP) - A woman, apparently from Cuba, was found alive and well in a small crate that had been shipped to Miami International Airport, a customs spokesman said Wednesday.
"A woman arrived in a crate last night," said Zachary Mann of the US Customs and Border Protection.
"The crate was about the size of a filing cabinet," he told AFP.
The crate was flown to the DHL terminal at the Miami airport from the Bahamas, said Mann, who said he was looking into reports it had originally been shippped from Cuba.
He said the woman was apparently of Cuban origin.
Hundreds of people flee communist Cuba every year and try to enter the United States illegally. Most travel by boat, and the US Coast Guard has detained 1,152 would-be migrants from Cuba so far this year.
