ANKARA - Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan met with the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Islamic Iraqi Council Ammar al-Hakim on Wednesday.
In a meeting that took place at the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Babacan told al-Hakim that "Turkey demands more cooperation from Iraq in the fight against terrorist organization PKK."
Babacan told al-Hakim and his delegation that it would be beneficial for Iraq if all groups participate in the political process of Iraq.
Ali Babacan emphasized the importance Turkey attaches to the territorial and political integrity of Iraq.
Al-Hakim said that Iraq pays high attention to relations with Turkey.
"We believe in promoting relations with Turkey. We are aware of Turkey's contributions and support to Iraq," al-Hakim also said.
