ANKARA - Turkish Interior Minister Besir Atalay said Wednesday "the new unit in the fight against terror will be established within the Interior Ministry."
Speaking to reporters at Ankara's Esenboga International Airport prior to his departure to Amman where the Fifth Meeting of the Interior Ministers of Countries Neighboring Iraq will take place, Atalay said that the new unit to be formed will handle terror with all its dimensions, conduct research and analysis and facilitate inter-departmental coordination.
We are pleased to see political will on both sides (Turkey and Iraq) for an effective cooperation, Atalay said.
We plan to develop bilateral relations with Iraq and sign agreements on energy, security, commerce and military cooperation in the upcoming term, Atalay also said.
