Turkish State Minister Says His Country Is Resistant Against Global Financial Crisis

LONDON - Turkish State Minister Mehmet Simsek said Tuesday Turkey was resistant to a global financial crisis which caused substantial damage at the world markets.
"Turkey is not immune to the global economic crisis but it also much more resilient against shocks than it used to be in the past," Simsek told a London conference on Turkey's banking system.
Simsek said Turkish banking system was well-equipped to brace against the global economic crisis, adding that his government was ready to supply liquidity to the markets if such need aroused.
