Turkey's Energy Minister In Cern

GENEVA/ANKARA - Turkey's energy minister visited the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, Switzerland on Tuesday.
Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler, who is currently in Geneva to attend a ceremony which will take place on the occasion of the operation of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), had a meeting with 62 Turkish scientists participating in the LHC experiment.
Guler told A.A correspondent that he was proud that Turkish scientists had active roles in experiments conducted in CERN and they aimed to increase the number of Turkish scientists to 500 in CERN.
LHC is a gigantic scientific instrument near Geneva, where it spans the border between Switzerland and France about 100 m underground. It is a particle accelerator used by physicists to study the smallest known particles ? the fundamental building blocks of all things.
