ASTANA - Turkish Parliament Speaker Koksal Toptan said Tuesday that the Turkish government did not expect the European Union (EU) to say `no` when Turkey fulfilled all requirements.
Addressing a group of Kazakh academicians and students at the Public Administration Academy in Astana, Toptan said that if the "EU said `no` to Turkey after having fulfilled all the requirements, then Turkey would go on in its own path.
I invite Kazakhstan to participate in big energy projects such as Samsun-Ceyhan oil pipeline and the Ceyhan refinery, Toptan said.
The decision of Kazakhstan to erect a monument in honor of Ataturk in capital city of Astana has pleased and honored us, Toptan noted.
"With this step, Kazakhstan has demonstrated its friendly and brotherly approach to relations with Turkey," Toptan also said.
