ANKARA - It would be beneficial to take steps to make the Turkish economy more shock proof, said a statement issued by the Economy Coordination Committee on Monday.
Economy Coordination Committee convened under the presidency of Turkish State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Nazim Ekren in capital Ankara.
Turkish State Minister and Deputy Premier Hayati Yazici, State Ministers Mehmet Simsek and Kursad Tuzmen, Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan, Industry & Trade Minister Zafer Caglayan, Labor Minister Faruk Celik, as well as high-level bureaucrats and representatives of the business world participated in the meeting.
The top priority in the Turkish economy must be to limit the negative impact of global financial developments, told the statement of the committee.
Among the topics the committee unanimously agreed on was the necessity to take off load from financial operations, said the statement.
