ATHENS - Two Turkish wrestlers qualified on Tuesday for semifinals in Greco-Roman wrestling in Athens 2004 Olympic Games.
Seref Eroglu, who is a world champion in 66 kg, defeated Armen Vardanyan of Ukraine 5-0, and qualified for the semifinals.
On the other hand, Hamza Yerlikaya, a world and olympic champion in 84 kg, beat Tarvi Thomberg of Estonia 3-0, and also qualified for the semifinals.
Eroglu will take on Mkhitar Manukyan of Kazakhstan while Yerlikaya will compete with Ara Abrahamyan of Sweden on Wednesday to qualify for the final.
In the meantime, two Turkish wrestlers, namely Ercan Yildiz and Yekta Yilmaz Gul, were eliminated in today's games.
