TEL AVIV - Turkish Embassy in Tel Aviv is set to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey with cultural activities to continue four months.
Turkish Ambassador to Israel Namik Tan said that Turkey and the Turkish culture would be promoted by the help of these activities in Israel.
Tan said that Turkish films would be screened in three major Israeli cities, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa at a week-long arts event starting Wednesday.
Israeli theaters in these cities will show Nuri Bilge Ceylan's "Uc Maymun" (Three Monkeys), Seyfi Teoman's "Tatil Kitabi" (Summer Book), Reha Erdem's "Bes Vakit" (Times and Winds), Baris Pirhasan's "Adem'in Trenleri" (Adam and the Devil), Ozer Kiziltan's "Takva" (A Man's Fear of God), Zeki Demirkubuz's "Kader" (Destiny), Abdullah Oguz's "Mutluluk" (Bliss) and Ozcan Alper's "Sonbahar" (Autumn). Some of the directors, scriptwriters and cast of these films will also take part at the screening of the films.
Tel Aviv will also host several photograph exhibitions on Turkey, and famous Turkish pianist Fazil Say will perform at a concert with Israeli conductor Zubin Mehta.
