SAMSUN - U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Eric Edelman said on Tuesday that they were working jointly with Turkey in fight against terrorism.
Edelman, who is paying a visit to Black Sea Region, met Samsun Governor Mustafa Demir and Mayor Yusuf Ziya Yilmaz.
When he was reminded of terrorist organization PKK's activities in the north of Iraq, Edelman said that they were very sensitive about acts of terrorism, stressing that they were working jointly with Turkey in fight against terrorism.
Asked whether or not he expected the United States to stage an operation against terrorist organization PKK in the near future, Edelman said that there would be different activities in cooperation with Turkey to prevent it from being a threat against the country. Noting that it was not said that the United States would take a military action soon, he added that but, it did not mean that any military operation would not take place in the future.
Replying to a question on developments in Najaf province of Iraq, Edelman stressed that U.S. operation was not against civilians.
