ISTANBUL - Turkish police arrested one female PKK terrorist, in her 30s, who was faking pregnancy and carrying 8.8 kg of explosives as well as detonators in Sisli district of Istanbul, the governor said on Saturday.
Istanbul Governor Muammer Guler told reporters that the amount of material the suspect was carrying suggested she was preparing an attack.
Police believed the planned attack would have been a suicide bombing "because of the belt she was wearing," Guler said.
In another operation in eastern province of Van on Sunday, police detained two people who were believed to have given explosives to the woman terrorist.
The two suspects were sent to Istanbul.
