ANKARA - Turkey`s Telecommunications Authority has decided to launch a tender for third generation (3G) mobile phone licences on November 28th.
According to the timetable set by the Turkish Telecommunications Authority, mobile phone operators willing to offer bids for 3G licences will be able to get specifications until November 24, officials said.
Bidding period begins on November 24 and will continue until November 27 at 3:00 p.m., officials added.
The authority will hold the tender on November 28.
Telecommunications Authority has fixed minimum price for licence A as 285 million euros, for licence B as 250 million euros, for licence C as 214 million euros and licence D as 178 million euros.
3G technologies enable network operators to offer users a wider range of more advanced services while achieving greater network capacity through improved spectral efficiency. Services include wide-area wireless voice telephony and broadband wireless data, all in a mobile environment.
