Turkish, Greek Cypriot Leaders To Meet To Discuss How To Shape Federal Executive Body

LEFKOSA - Turkish and Greek Cypriot leaders are set to get together for the third round of peace talks that was launched on September 11.
President Mehmet Ali Talat of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias are scheduled to meet at the buffer zone Friday.
The two leaders --under the chapter "Execution and Power Sharing"-- will discuss how to shape federal executive body. Following this chapter, Talat and Christofias are expected to proceed with another chapter on "property rights".
UN Secretary-General`s special envoy for Cyprus Alexander Downer will also take part in the meeting of Cypriot leaders.
A senior Turkish Cypriot official earlier said that negotiation process has made slow progress and should be accelerated.
"To find a solution to Cyprus question is the major responsibility for Turkish and Greek Cypriot political leaders. So, it is a necessity to carry out this process in a more dynamic and fast-moving way," TRNC Presidency Spokesman Hasan Ercakica said.
